David Aristizabal '12 has been awarded a Gold Medal in the Documentary category of the Student Academy Awards for his USC-produced film A Second Chance.

Victoria Aveyard '12 has written Red Queen, the first novel in a trilogy set in a fantasy world where society is divided by the color of blood. The novel has been optioned by Universal Pictures.

Jim Bernstein '91 is the Executive Producer and Co-Creator of the new series Mighty Med for Disney XD.

Todd Black will produce Business Trip, an upcoming Vince Vaughn comedy, for New Regency and Fox.

Jose Bojorquez '02 has been nominated for Best Screenplay and Best Director, as part of 8 total nominations for his film Hidden Moon, at Mexico's prestigious Silver Goddess Awards.

Christopher Boyd '06 has won an Emmy Award for Best Sports Documentary for his film The First Padres.

Bryan Burk '91 will executive produce the Fox drama Almost Human.

Christopher Cantwell '04 has sold an original television series, Halt & Catch Fire, to AMC. The series will follow the origins of the personal computing boom through the eyes of three characters-a visionary, an engineer, and a prodigy-whose innovations clash with the corporate status quo.

Ryan Coogler '11 will direct Creed, the latest entry in the Rocky franchise, for MGM. The film will star Michael B. Jordan, who worked with Ryan on Fruitvale Station, as Apollo Creed's grandson, seeking ring training from an aged Rocky Balboa.

Karen Croner '87 will adapt the Korean comedy Hello Ghost, about a man whose failed suicide attempt allows him to see ghosts, for star Adam Sandler and director Chris Columbus.

R.J. Cutler will adapt the young-adult novel If I Stay, a thriller about a girl's out-of-body experience during a coma, for MGM.

Michael Davis '04 is writing an action/comedy script for IFC based on the graphic novel Trigger Men, about a hit man who tries to go clean while his hit man friend gets him deeper into trouble.

Susan Downey '95 will produce Pinocchio, to star Robert Downey, Jr., for Warner Bros.

Jay Gammill '07 has completed his feature film debut, the indie-comedy Free Samples, about a law school dropout trapped in food service purgatory. The film, whose cast includes Jesse Eisenberg and Tippi Hedren, can now be ordered through iTunes (http://bit.ly/FSiTunes).

Brian Grazer will executive produce the upcoming Fox drama Gang Related.

Kevin Greutert '88 has just completed directing the Southern gothic thriller Jessabelle for Lionsgate, and is currently in production on Saw VII for Lionsgate, his first feature in 3D. Kevin is also in preproduction on another feature for Lionsgate, the supernatural thriller Visions.

Jason Hall has adapted American Sniper, the autobiography of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, and will executive produce the film, which is set to star Bradley Cooper under the direction of Steven Spielberg.

Jacob Hatley '06 has directed Ain't In It For My Health: A Film About Levon Helm, a documentary of the titular The Band member. SCA alumni in crew positions include: producer Mary Posatko '07, producer  Ken Segna '07, cinematographer Emily Topper, and sound mixer Phil Davis '07.

Evan Katz '86 will executive produce 24: Live Another Day as part of a two-year deal with 20th Century Fox TV.

William Olsson '06 has won Jury Grand Prix, Best Screenplay, and Best Cinematography at the Golden Goblet Awards for his feature Reliance.

Michael R. Perry '94 has written The Voices, a psychological thriller starring Ryan Reynolds as a man who believes his pets' voices are guiding him towards both good and evil ends.

Chip Rosenbloom '87 will produce an as-yet-untitled documentary about the murder trial and conviction of college student Ryan Ferguson, who spent his entire 20s in prison based on the testimony of witnesses who later admitted to perjury.

Charles Roven will produce spec script The Bermuda Triangle, a proposed tent pole franchise using the Bermuda Triangle mythology in an action setting.

Ira Rubenstein '92 was named to the board, and appointed CEO, of MeeMee Media.

Ian Sander is an executive producer for Reckless, a legal drama in development for CBS in which rival attorneys must set aside their mutual attraction to deal with a city at the brink from a police sex scandal.

Eric Schrier '98 has been named President of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Prods., where he will oversee all original programming and head business and entertainment operations.

Josh Schwartz '98 will produce Laurel Canyon, a drama written by Karen Croner '87, for E!. The series, about a young woman's return to her dysfunctional family after the death of her rock-star father, is among the first group of scripted series for the network.

Stacey Sher '85 will produce, and John Wells '82 will direct, Chef, a Bradley Cooper vehicle about a troubled Parisian chef who is determined to open a 3-Michelin-Star restaurant. Stacey will also produce  Wish I Was Here, Zach Braff's upcoming, Kickstarter-funded sequel to Garden State.

Ian Shorr '08 has written the spec Capsule, a sci-fi tale about a young man who begins to receive mysterious messages from his future self. The spec has been acquired by 20th Century Fox.

Srdjan Stakic '12 has executive produced Yellow Face, an adaptation of the play of the same name that critically examines Hollywood's tradition of having Caucasian actors portray Asians. Kirk Sullivan '06 has directed The Dead Men, produced by Christopher Boyd '06, a thriller about an American who becomes involved with a group living in a haunted and abandoned Columbian hospital. Kirk and Christopher had previously collaborated in the same roles on the short The Come Up, which went to deadCENTER and the San Diego Film Festival.

Pam Veasey has signed a two-script development deal with Jerry Bruckheimer TV. She has also joined upcoming CW series The Tomorrow People as a consulting producer.

John Wells '82 will executive produce Fortune, a one-hour scripted drama about a wealthy family's inheritance battle after the patriarch's mysterious death, for Bravo.

Max Winkler '06 has teamed with Jake Johnson to form The Walcott Company at 20th Century Fox TV.
