Starz gave a straight-to-series order to a drama adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods from writer and executive producer Bryan Fuller. Fuller will also write and executive produce Universal TV’s remake of the 1980s anthology series Amazing Stories.

Javier Grillo-Marxuach ’93 will executive produce Black Stiletto for ABC and Mila Kunis’ Orchard Farms Productions.

Lynn Hendee ’81 will produce Truth in Advertising, a dramedy to star Ryan Reynolds.

Ron Howard and Brian Grazer ’74 have partnered with All Nippon Entertainment Works and Namco Bandai to produce a live action, English-language remake of the superhero anime series Tiger & Bunny.  Grazer will also executive produce an untitled event series for Fox which centers on an African American cop whose life is threatened after he kills a white teen in Tennessee.

ABC made a script commitment to Bad News, a single-camera fish-out-of-water comedy from executive producer Aaron Kaplan ’90. Kaplan will also executive produce Showtime’s coming-of-age drama pilot about a young African American male growing up in Chicago as well as ABC’s single-camera family comedy titled The Second Fattest Housewife in Westport. Kaplan and rap star Nicki Minaj will executive produce a scripted comedy series for ABC Family to star Minaj. Kaplan and writer Alex Cary sold The Watcher, a thriller inspired by true events, to NBC. He will executive produce Adult Children, a half-hour comedy for CBS TV Studios.

Fox will develop the Marvel television series Hellfire from executive producer Evan Katz ’86.

Charlotte Koh ’02 was named Head of Features and Series at GoPro.

USA Network and Universal Cable Prods. have given a green light to a two-hour backdoor pilot of The Wilding, a supernatural drama from executive producer Tim Kring ’88.

The health and wellness cable network Z Living hired Tim Krubsack ’92 as EVP and Head of Programming.

Jon Landau ’83 and James Cameron will produce a live-action adaptation of the graphic novel series Battle Angel Alita.

Neal Moritz ’85 signed a two-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television. He will executive produce a television reboot of the 1999 cult film Cruel Intentions for NBC.

Don Murphy ’88 will produce a feature adaptation of the New York Times bestselling novel Little Brother for Paramount Pictures with a view to create a reality-based YA franchise for the studio.

Fox made a put pilot commitment to a drama series adaptation of the feature film Behind Enemy Lines. Jeffrey Nachmanoff ’94 will write and direct the pilot.

Writer Tracy Oliver ’10 and ballet superstar Misty Copeland will team up to produce an untitled Fox drama series set in the world of dance. ABC made a put pilot commitment to Ordinary People, a single-camera romantic comedy with musical elements from Oliver.

Prentice Penny ’95 wrote and Brian Grazer ’74 will executive produce a single-camera family comedy pilot at NBC about a loud, quarrelsome family from the Bronx who takes in their wide-eyed 10 year old nephew.

ABC is developing an untitled medical drama from executive producer Shonda Rhimes ’94. The project centers on a U.S. Army Medevac team in Baghdad circa 2004. ABC also acquired Still Star-Crossed, a Romeo and Juliet sequel drama which Rhimes will executive produce. Lastly, Rhimes will executive produce an untitled ABC comedic drama, which has been described as an upstairs-downstairs look at the insanity of modern child-rearing.

Melissa Rosenberg ’90 sold the drama series Sleepless, an adaptation of the Kenneth Calhoun novel Black Moon, to Hulu. She will produce the untitled adaptation of Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta crime novel series for Fox 2000.

Caroline Ryder will participate in the first Hedgebrook Screenwriters Lab in Seattle, WA.

Ari Sandel ’05 will direct and Josh Schwartz will produce the Universal Pictures feature film Monster High, the studio’s newest addition to its monster movie franchise. Schwartz will write and executive produce The Party, a twisted family drama for ABC.

’89 will direct a feature adaptation of the Jules Verne novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for 20th Century Fox. Singer will also executive produce Legion, a Marvel drama for FX.

Tim Story ’94 will direct a contemporary retelling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to star Ice Cube as a modern day Ebenezer Scrooge. Story will also direct and executive produce the TV adaptation of Think Like A Man, a single-camera comedy for Fox.

Victoria Strouse ’96 will write Tink, a Disney film to star Reese Witherspoon.

Jennifer Todd has teamed up with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck to executive produce the HBO Films drama Thirst, a movie set against the backdrop of the global water crisis.
