Scott Alexander ’85 and Larry Karaszewski ’85 have been tapped by Amazon to script a feature on the life of Gutzon Borglum, the famed Mount Rushmore sculptor.

Adrienne Biddle ‘99 will produce a remake of See No Evil, the cult favorite 1971 horror movie starring Mia Farrow. She will also produce He’s Out There, a thriller about a mother and her two daughters who visit their remote lake house and find a terrifying nightmare awaiting them.

Matt Bosack ’13 has been staffed on the USA series, SHOOTER.

Ted Braun ’88 wrote and directed Betting On Zero, a feature documentary that had its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival’s World Documentary Competition on April 14th. Controversial hedge fund titan Bill Ackman is on a crusade to expose global nutritional giant Herbalife as the largest pyramid scheme in history while Herbalife execs claim Ackman is a market manipulator out to bankrupt them and make a killing off his billion dollar short.

Sheldon Candis ‘03 directed the short documentary WHO WILL SURVIVE AMERICA, a film examining America's love affair and easy accessibility of guns. The film is a part of the 'Take 5: Justice in America' series which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival.

Simon Wilches Castro ‘14 and MFA student Yawen Zheng's films "Business Hours: Life and Death of a Bureaucrat" and "Monster in My Heart" are official selections in the NW Animation Fest 2016

Jonathan Chinn ’94 is teaming up with Doug Liman to produce Captive, an eight episode documentary series exploring hostage situations and negotiations around the world. Captive will appear on Netflix.

Julia Cox ‘11 wrote an episode of Recovery Road that premiered in early March.

Daniel Dubiecki will produce Another Day In The Death of America, a film based on the non-fiction book of a writer investing the deaths of 10 children shot in one random day in America. David Oyelowo is also attached to star and produce.

Kristin Ellermann ’09 just released her first children’s book About the Belonging Doll, the story of one doll’s adventure as she learns that only in giving up being perfect can she feel what it is to truly belong.

David Ellison will produce The Flying Tigers, a film about a volunteer group of US airmen that defended China from Japanese forces prior to America entering the war. The film will be a co-production betweenSkydance and Alibaba Pictures. He will also executive produce Red Mars, a ten-episode series based on the award-winning Mars Trilogy books.

Gabriel Flaksman ’15 has been admitted to the Warner Brothers Writing Fellowship.

Robert Funke ’13 and Matt Lutsky ‘14, have sold a pilot to Sony Pictures Television, with George Clooney and Grant Heslov attached as producers.

The Superman prequel Krypton, a project from David Goyer88, has been greenlit at Syfy. Krypton will be set two years before the destruction of Krypton and follow the story of Superman’s grandfather.

Vu Quynh Ha ’10 produced the Vietnamese feature film SWEET 20 with her production company CJ E&M, which screened at SCA in April as part of the Alumni Series.

Peter Kang ’96 was just appointed co-President of Production at Lionsgate, after completing a three-year stint as EVP of production at Paramount.

Aaron Kaplan ’90 will executive produce Manhunt, a half-hour action comedy project that will be developed by Showtime. He is also working with Selena Gomez and Freeform on developing an untitled drama project about an 18-year old girl from a low-income Latino neighborhood with big dreams.

Collin Kelly ’08 and Jackson Lanzing ’08 are proud to announce their first creator owned graphic novel series through BOOM! Studios: JOYRIDE. The two have also recently signed as writers for DC Comics, taking over GRAYSON, the adventures of the First Robin, Dick Grayson.

Shawn Levy ’94 will produce Sovereign, a sci-fi thriller project that follows a husband who stumbles upon a terrifying secret in space after investigating the disappearance of his estranged cosmonaut wife.

Miranda Rights,a pilot from Katie Lovejoy’ 09 about an idealistic group of lawyers who live and work together, was greenlit by NBC.

Girl Band, co-directed/written/produced by alums Cailin Lowry ’14, Kerry Furrh ’14 and Olivia Mitchell ’14, was accepted to world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Husband and wife team Terri Miller and Andrew Marlowe ’92 will produce Take Two, a fun and witty crime series which follows a PI who hires a washed up cop show star to star in a commercial and inadvertently ends up with her as an investigative partner.

La Clave, a short scripted film on Latino mental illness, won the CINDY Gold Award and the Robert Townsend Social Issues Awards. Doe Mayer ‘73 served as the film's Executive Producer, Lisa Leeman was Producer and Patricia Cardoso was the Director.

Neal Moritz ’85 and his Original Film production company has signed a two-year deal with Sony TV. He will produce a new film with Lionsgate based on the TV series MacGyver as well as a TV sequel of Cruel Intentions for NBC. Cinemax is also developing his project The Boys, a show based on a comic where superheroes are corrupted by their celebrity status and must be reined in by a CIA squad. Eric Kripke ‘96 is attached to write and Ori Marmur will executive produce.

Kelly L. Peters ’05 wrote Lights Out, which was officially selected as a part of the Cannes Film Festival Short Films Corner.

Jason Reitman will team with Diablo Cody and Charlize Theron on Cody’s untitled new feature project.

Shonda Rhimes ’94 will receive the 2016 International Emmy Founder’s Award for her “boundless creative artistry and unique production talent”.

Brian Rhodes ’15 and the rest of the World Building Media Lab’s VR/AR experience The Leviathan Project was featured at the Sundance Film Festival.

Josh Schwartz will adapt the Calendar Girl book series for television. The series follows a young woman who becomes a high-priced adult escort to pay off the gambling debts of her father.

Jennifer Todd will be producing Bunker Hill, based on a book that covers the pivotal battle that lit the fuse for the American Revolution in 1775.
